An inspirational clothing line

Have you ever thought about the clothes you wear and what kind of statement you are making? Did you know that there are some clothing companies out there in the world that are trying to make a positive difference in people’s lives and change the way people think. Barnabas Clothing is one such company.

Barnabas Clothing was created to “challenge people to be bold and courageous and to live their lives with purpose and action”, or “A Life Worth Imitating” (their company motto). Based in California, Barnabas was created by Alexander Aquino who was inspired to do something different with a clothing line. He dreamed of making a difference in people’s lives whether it be for the people who wear the clothing or for the people Barnabas was helping through sales of the clothes.

The Barnabas brand aims to create a new niche in the fashion industry by giving back. A portion of all sales (10%) goes to “The Living Room International”, which is a hospice that cares for those impacted by HIV/AIDS in Kenya.

Over a million people in Kenya are infected with HIV/AIDS and many of them cannot afford pain medication or treatment. To make matters worse, many Kenyans infected with HIV/AIDS  are ostracized from their community creating further hardship and suffering. The Living Room International aims to help these people and ensure they receive proper care.

In today’s world, it is refreshing to see companies like Barnabas that are making a difference and giving back.  In case you are looking for that last minute gift, please check out their products offerings at their website by clicking here.

      You’re welcome! 🙂

  1. restlessjo – Hi! I’m Jo! Johanna when I’m feeling posh, Jan to my Dad, and Joasiu to my Polish family. A bit of a mix-up, that’s me. The one constant, however, is my restless nature. I love to travel and to explore our world. It doesn’t have to be the big wide world. I can be ridiculously happy not too far from home, so long as I’m seeking new horizons. Of course I have a wish list, and it was to help me fulfil my dreams that I started to write travel guides for a venture called Simonseeks. I’d always kept a travel diary, and it was hugely satisfying to share my experiences and to make new friends who shared my passion for travel. Alas, Simonseeks hit a few troubles, but I still find myself writing about my travels. I’ve become addicted. I’d love to share them, and to make more friends. So, it has to be a blog- right? Or do I mean- write?

It makes you wonder why more companies don’t do this, Nicole, but I guess the profit margins are so tight. Cheap clothing outlets like Primark have become the norm and nobody wants to pay more than they have to.

  3. Sas – Cardiff, UK – I'm vegan. I love to travel. I challenge myself to visit at least one new place and try at least one new activity every year. When I'm not writing, I like to ski, rock climb, keep fit and bodyboard.
