Photoblog: Forces of Nature

“On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it” – Jules Renard

I find so much peace and joy in the beauty of nature. I love to be outdoors more than anything and oftentimes I am struck by the sheer force of nature to create such an amazing planet. It frightens me that we aren’t acting faster to stop climate change. I wonder what will remain of this amazing world for the generations to come. For my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Will there be any glaciers remaining? Will the world be so green and spectacular? Or will it slowly disappear before our greedy eyes despite the fact that we can do something to stop it? It is our call.

This is what we have at stake. One of the most amazing places in the universe. Our planet.

  1. Sue Slaght – Calgary, Alberta Canada – www.traveltalesoflife.com Many years from now, when I am an old lady sitting in the nursing home, I hope to be the twinkly eyed resident still entertaining anyone who I can corner to listen, about all of the wild adventures attempted in a lifetime. Well into the second half of the game of life there is no time like the present to get out there, live big and laugh a lot. Living in Calgary, Alberta, married to my best friend Dave for over thirty years and Mom to adult children; my decades as a nurse have shown that in a moment life can change completely. Passionate about social justice, volunteerism and not letting the phrase “What would people think?” or my own fear get in the way of trying something new; the possibilities are endless. Enjoy the tales and I hope you will be inspired to try something you have been thinking about doing.

Nicole this collection is astounding! Your many travels have taken you to beautiful places on this planet. However to capture them so as a reader can feel transported is a unique talent. Thank you.

  11. anotherday2paradise – Durban South Africa and Florida USA – I enjoy writing about absolutely anything, and started blogging with WordPress in 2012. This was my 'Hammock Lady' blog, and I really enjoyed sharing my travels here: http://adinparadise.wordpress.com/ In November 2013, I decided it was time for a change of scenery, so I started my blog afresh, and here it is. I love to travel, and have been fortunate enough to do two round-the-world trips and visit more than forty countries so far. This year we visited our 7th continent, Antarctica. I enjoy photographing wildlife, especially in my backyard in Florida. I was born and brought up in England. My husband and I emigrated to South Africa in 1970. We now live in Florida, USA. I have a son and a daughter and five gorgeous grandchildren currently aged between 6 and 21 years. I'm so happy that you've taken the time to visit my blog, and would love for you to join me on my travels. Sylvia.

  12. lifeofbree – The short version of what makes up me #Dreamer #MovieMad #MusicMyReligion #Writer #wannabeChef Walking towards the Remarkable Rocks in Kangaroo Island, South Australia there was a green area with a plaque that read ‘do not step on, area of rejuvenation’. That’s me right now essentially. I am working on reinventing, becoming who I am by living my life and learning from the past. Life threw me one hell of a curve ball as they say with plenty collateral damage. Since then my life has been in the caterpillar phase for a very long time, I won’t lie, but I am seeing the early signs of birthing that butterfly. I was unable to write for many years or even pick up a book but I knew I was becoming myself again when the words came back and I started taking photos again. My aim for this blog is to write when I write, communicate through photos and if I don’t that’s fine too. I want it to be the one place that is not a pressure zone, it is somewhere to express myself whatever that is, a place where I am not good or bad, or the sum total of all the disappointments life has unleashed, where I am not my failures real or perceived.

These gorgeous photos in nature where everything is just right. We don’t save the planet for its sake because nature adapts and endures. It is for our sake because we are a fragile species living on this great planet
