Travel by Country

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain

    • Thanks for the heads up Jennifer! Ha Ha…two pretty different places! I fixed it now. I need to enter more posts on Greece! I spent three weeks there but all the photos need to be scanned….someday!

    • I would LOVE to go to Ecuador! Do you read Lisa’s blog? Playamart? She is in Ecuador and I’ve been folllowing here for a long time! I will check your blog out! Thanks!

  1. Hi, I really liked your ‘Women in Morocco’ post! The background you give is really interesting and I found current comments very useful.
Currently considering a two month voluntary teaching post for an organisation in Rabat, I was wondering whether this is something you would recommend. I’m an 18 year old European woman.
I would really appreciate any advice you may have,

    • Hi sorry for the delay in responding but I’m in Ethiopia now and finally catching up. I loved Rabat and as a blond haired woman was a little nervous initially yet I had absolutely no problem at all. I felt much safer and more relaxed there than I did in Central America and here in Africa. You will love it!!!! Any more questions please let me know.

  2. great blog! looks like you have been lucky to be able to travel to so many places! traveling to Latin America – central and south America is certainly a dream for most of Indians! some do travel but given the barriers to cost, lack of direct flight connections, language problems etc has kept them out of that continent, generally!
    keep writing!

    • Well I’ve been blogging for over 5 years now. I must have a lot to say! As for Instagram and FB I use them but they are for different reasons and actually don’t seem to do much for the blog. Better outlet for my photography. Do you use them?

      • Five years! You da man, woman. I read that most people don’t make it through one year. I have a FB account, rarely use it. Don’t do Instagram…although I have an account there too, maybe three shots up.

  3. Great blog!
    I just miss one country…
Because of the mentality of that lovely people… AND ofcourse the great landscape and marvellous cities… All the best from a part-time Portuguese, otherwise dane…

      • I can just guarantee you: It IS lovely. Both the country / landscapes (so many different, you almost have most of Europe in one country), and the people… I’ve been to many of Europes countries, but never experienced a people so well-hearted… If that’s even a word. Welcoming but with respect: They really meet a stranger / foreigner as a potential friend. And that is, sadly, becoming more and more rare in Europe…
Wish I could upload some pictures from where I stay at the moment, (and as often as possible); Castelo de Vide, Alto Alentejo…
        Make a note to visit.😉

      • I try to make more than one annual trip, but don’t write travel-blog… Am a fiction-writer and storyteller, and ofcourse a lot of Portugal finds it way into that. Anyway, I write in danish, so even if I wrote bout my travelling… But I do my “duty” on sites like Tripadvisor etc.
Anyway, if you ever make it to P., besides Lisbon, find way to Alto Alentejo and Parque National de Serra de São Mamede… It’s simply beautiful.
And now I’ll stop going on bout “my” spot of paradise on earth…🙂

Comments always welcome and appreciated!!!
