What better gift is there than teaching your child the spirit of giving this holiday season!  Why not create a family tradition that gives back by supporting  one of these amazing organizations with holiday gifts that help people around the world?

A few years ago, I began highlighting different organizations that offer wonderful gifts that also give back to a cause.  Given how popular the posts have been, I created a permanent Gifts that Give Back page on my blog and last holiday season that page alone received 10,000 views in the months of November and December! I was thrilled to know that these amazing organizations and causes were getting more customers from my blog. Without further ado, here is my updated 2016 Holiday Guide of Gifts that Give Back. I hope you enjoy and please comment if you know of any I’ve missed and please share with friends. Happy Shopping!

  1. I’m so very happy to see a post like this!! There’s been a growing movement of retail companies that have a charity component to their items (S’well bottles, Allbirds sneakers, 1:Face watches, Alex & Ani bracelets, just to name a few).

Thanks for making the holiday shopping just a tad less stressful by providing these wonderful options. Siestas for Fiestas and b.a.r.e. soap are just my style 😉 Thanks for sharing!

  2. Great choices as always, Nicole. I’m drawn to Humanity Unified and World Bicycle Relief. Every year for the last three or four years, my husband and I have bought bikes for children in our area whose parents can’t afford one. We’ve had some other people donate towards that and we do, too. We check with local pastors for recommendations. It’s been so rewarding!

    janet

    1. Wonderful Janet! I love both organization and am actually volunteering and working closing with Humanity Unified! I personally know the founders. 🌟 I also of course love World Bicycle Relief. So many great organizations and yes it is wonderful too to donate through your church. 😊

      1. We look wherever we need to to find children and pastors often know who needs help. If you get a chance, watch “Up From Ashes” about cycling in Rwanda. Wonderful story!

      2. That is wonderful Janet. I don’t belong to a church as I am not religious but do support churches and one of my favorites in a Lutheran church down the street. The pastor is amazing!!!! He takes donations year round from anyone in the community of pretty much anything that is in good shape. The piles of donations are huge and very week volunteers go through the donations and drive them out to outreach centers in North Minneapolis. It is amazing! I used to give to Goodwill but they sell the stuff. Other places just ship it to Africa which hurts the local economies there. This program is fantastic!

  3. Thank you for be willing to share the pain with us. Please continue to write as I will share your journey with others I know that are going through chronic illness.

  4. Thanks so much Nicole. I have been wanting to find some places where I can help others by buying environmentally friendly products and now I have.

      1. I’m so glad LuAnn! I have noticed that they get a ton of hits this time of year. Over 2,000 a few days ago and 1500 yesterday so I feel grateful I’m helping these organizations get new customers! Every little thing helps! 🙂

      2. Every little bit helps. Just found another new organization called Bureo that recycles fishing nets to make skateboards and sunglasses! There are so many cool things happening now!
