“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment”. – Buddha

Living in the now is difficult to do in our exceedingly busy lives. It is an art that must be practiced. There is nothing like the holidays to practice being present and living in the moment. It is a time of year that forces me to finally slow down, to breathe and relax, and enjoy being in the now.

The past few days in Arizona have been all about family and enjoying the moment. Here are a few highlights.

Christmas with family

This post was inspired by the Weekly Photo Challenge: Now.

  1. Awesome thank you for the beautiful pictures, quotes and most of your words of wisdom for today. I really needed them. The holidays are always hard for me but for some reason they seemed to be worse this year. I lost my favorite cousin last year on the 23 December, my sister’s birthday was the 24 December, one of my grandma’s died on the 26Dec and the other one went into a coma on the 27Dec so I have a my share of bad luck in December I tried to remember that our lord sent his son to save the word on Christmas Day but in my neck of the woods my family is dying off rather quickly but I am still hanging around and hanging on to my faith because of blogs like yours so thank you again. God bless and Happy New Year 2016 may it be a great year for all.

    • Yes sometimes lied can be very hard. We lost someone we loved dearly as well in December and it makes it difficult. But must keep on living and enjoying life no matter what. Glad you felt inspired by the post. Take care!

  2. So wonderful to see one of my favorite places in the world represented so beautifully through your images. No place does a blue sky like Arizona and I love, love, love saguaros. Great to see your family looking well. Sorry to read above that you lost someone dear to you. Never easy and less so at this time of year. You never quite get over the loss of a loved one but the pain becomes less acute with time. Wishing you and yours the best in 2016.

  3. What gorgeous country for you and your family to hike through! I hope those dogs got to hike too!
Have a wonderful New Year, and thanks for all you do to make the world a better place.

  4. Happy Holidays, Nicole! It looks like you’re having the perfect holiday with your gorgeous family. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration to stay in the present – the now! James and I are big believers in it! We wish you all the very best in 2016 and look forward to whatever adventures tickle your fancy! 🙂 ~Terri & James
