“On earth there is no heaven, but there are pieces of it” – Jules Renard

I find so much peace and joy in the beauty of nature. I love to be outdoors more than anything and oftentimes I am struck by the sheer force of nature to create such an amazing planet. It frightens me that we aren’t acting faster to stop climate change. I wonder what will remain of this amazing world for the generations to come. For my grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Will there be any glaciers remaining? Will the world be so green and spectacular? Or will it slowly disappear before our greedy eyes despite the fact that we can do something to stop it? It is our call.

This is what we have at stake. One of the most amazing places in the universe. Our planet.

  1. Nicole this collection is astounding! Your many travels have taken you to beautiful places on this planet. However to capture them so as a reader can feel transported is a unique talent. Thank you.

    1. Oh Sue, what a wonderful compliment! Thank you! I’m trying to improve my photography and have actually started taking some basic classes. It helps to be in beautiful places but just think if I knew how to truly use my camera!!!

  2. A lot of wonderful photos, but that Northern Minn lake is just stunning, thanks for sharing! (And yes I hope my grandkids –if I have some — see scenes that are as grand.)

    1. Thanks so much! Really glad you enjoyed! We are lucky here in Minnesota to have over 10,000 lakes and lots of pristine, untouched wilderness on the Canadian border. I hope too it stays for future generations. Our planet is such an amazing place!

  3. I’m a nature lover too. I loved your post and also all the beautiful pictures. I guess you have traveled a lot to see so many breathtaking views!
Mother nature is so forgiving and always welcoming. 🙂

  4. A wonderful gallery of spectacular images that celebrate the beauty that surrounds us. There couldn’t be a better response to the challenge this week Nicole, and that sunset over Lake Harriet is a stunner. 🙂

    1. Thanks Andrew! I’m glad you like the one of my lovely lake! It is near my house, about five blocks away. I run, walk, bike around it all the time. We have over 10,000 lakes here in Minnesota and are lucky for the beauty!

    1. Thanks Sylvia! That photo is from 2004 when my dad and I went on safari in South Africa! It is scanned but I love it! (Didn’t have a digital camera yet!).

These gorgeous photos in nature where everything is just right. We don’t save the planet for its sake because nature adapts and endures. It is for our sake because we are a fragile species living on this great planet
