This week’s photo challenge, Culture, is quite fitting since I literally just got off the plane from Paris which is perhaps the culture capital of the world. Still jet-lagged and behind, I had a chance to upload my photos from my trip to France and have an astounding number to sort through: 1,400 taken in nine days flat! (I broke my record!).
I only went through the first set of photos this morning but feel they portray an excellent look into the immense, fantastic culture of lovely, worldly Paris. Here are a few to whet your appetite and prepare you for the weeks to come on my blog. Bon chance!!!

Are you Parisian? Your post makes me want to go back and visit Paris again.
No I’m American but did spend some time living there back as a university student. Love that city! 🙂
Great, great, great! You definitely have me waiting for more. There seems to be a preponderance of photos of sidewalk cafes and boulangerie…..hmm….
Oh….Angeline! 1400 photos to sort through. Even I’m overwhelmed but it was so gorgeous! 🙂
Amazing pictures. I learnt French as a third language for a few years. I am dying to visit Paris
Thanks so much! You would love it there!
I love Paris. Have a good time there.
Thanks! it was wonderful! More soon….
A collection that captures the wonderful memories! Welcome back — Spring even decided to make an appearance upon your return!
Yes it has! Good timing, huh?!
Beautiful pictures, especially the one with the Eiffel tower in the background!
Thank you so much!
Good shots, Nicole!
Thank you! I have so many more to share, too!
It’s the colour and the light that is so amazing there. Wonderful shots. I await the next 1350 odd with baited breath.
Thanks so much! I’ve got my work cut out for me!!!!
From this small sample of photos, looks like you had a wonderful experience enjoying the culture of another country. Paris is on my bucket list.
Thanks so much! Yes it was wonderful! We also went down south to Provence (I spent a summer there in 1994) and it was equally gorgeous!
Ah, Paris and you can experience this grand dame of cities in the Springtime. While I’ve been there numerous times, you know that you can never, never get enough of its charm and charisma.
That is so true! You never can be disappointed and there is always something gorgeous and new to see!
I want to go so much! I can’t wait to see all of your pictures!
Thanks so much! Lots more to come! 🙂
I cannot wait!
Thank you! I need this encouragement as there is a lot of work to be done! 🙂 But it is like reliving a trip which I enjoy so much! 🙂
KEEP GOING!! :☽ (please)
🙂 Ok…twist my arm!
I don’t think I have too !!
So many boulangeries, so little time 🙂 Love Paris; very nice post!
Ha Ha…so true! I could eat baguettes forever and ah…..the chevre chaud salad. Too much cheese!!!
Isn’t it strange how places have their own character, Nicole? So many nice images, but I love the row of textured chairs and no.28 Boulangerie. A great trip? 🙂
Yes it was WONDERFUL! I have so many photos too! Can’t wait to go through them all. A very special trip!
Thank you for taking us to Paris, Nicole!
you’re welcome! You’ll be back soon too as I have tons more photos to share!
Nicole, I’ve been waiting patiently for your Paris photos…and they definitely didn’t disappoint! 1,400 photos. Incredible. I think I have a couple shots of the Metro signs in Paris, too. They are so ornate. Awesome shots. Thanks for taking me with you on your cultural walk through Paris. There is nothing like Paris in the spring. Anxiously awaiting your next batch of photos.
Thanks so much! Paris must be one of the most picturesque cities in the world but I also thought Antigua, Guatemala was up on my list too. Can’t wait to start going through all the pics and sharing. Just need to think of an effective way to do it. Maybe I’ll do it in sets? We’ll see! 🙂
Awesome! How I wish I was there…
Thanks! It was wonderful!
I love Paris… haven’t been in SO long… I think it is time to make plans to go back! Thanks for reminding me of the beauty of Paris.
Yes it is an amazing place. My favorite city in the world. It did get expensive though but it is worth it as it truly is a remarkable place!
Probably good to go now before the all the summer tourists – when prices soar higher!
Yes true! But it already was so expensive I was shocked. But then again, its paris!!!
I haven’t been since 2001, so I guess I better start to save now 😉
Can’t wait to see more!
Great…there will be lots! 🙂
Ah. Paris. I can never get tired of that city. Never! Beautiful shots.
Thanks! Yes it is perhaps the most beautiful city in the world!
Welcome home, Nicole! Looks like you made the most of your time in Paris! Looking forward to seeing more photos.
Thanks Lucy! Broke my record too….1400 photos. Not sure how good they all are but I’m excited!
I can’t wait to see more of them and hear your stories about Paris revisited, Nicole!
Thanks Lucy! It is going to take me awhile to get through them as I have so many social good posts/projects I’m working on now too. But it is a refreshing mix! 🙂
You’re an incredibly energetic and motivated person, Nicole and sometimes I need some of that! Your projects sound awesome and keep life interesting I think! 🙂
Thanks Lucy! I do have lots of down time! Yes I’m energetic yet sometimes it makes me do a nose dive! I think it is hard for me to slow down. But with summer coming, I intend to relax a bit and chill out. Hoping you post more pics of Thailand soon!!!
I hope you get to relax in the summer with your kids, Nicole. I’ll be posting more pics soon!
Not sure if I replied to this already, Nicole! I’m excited for you!
Just lovely!
Thank you! 🙂 Hard not to take good pics in Paris! 🙂
Wonderful! Will be there in three months and will likely spend as much time in boulangeries 🙂
Wonderful Madhu! It will be perfect weather than too! It was chilly and a late spring when we were there. 🙂 But we went south to Provence (I lived there two after university) and it was amazing, warm and gorgeous!
L-O-V-E!!!!!!!!! 🙂
Thanks! Hope you are doing well! 🙂
A wonderful collection of photos to begin your Paris epic, 1,400 photos is a lot to sort through. It was lovely to see so many independent stores, rather than the domination of the roads by cloned shop fronts of multi-national chains. I’m from London, but now live in rural England – I have visited Brussels and Madrid, but Paris is still on my wish list. So I will soak up your future posts and dream! 🙂
Thanks! Yes, I think it is such a crime that we are nothing but chains in the US. I used to live in Chicago and at least there, there are boutiques and independent stores. Once you start moving out into the suburbs it is chain after chain. I sure do love Paris! You are so close so you can get there easily! 🙂
Particularly liked the angle of the chairs at the sidewalk cafe. Those outdoor seating areas were my absolute favorite to people watch and sip a coffee. Can’t wait to see more!
Thanks so much! I LOVE the cafe life in Paris. It is perhaps one of the best things there. I could sit there all day and have coffee or wine. We did spend a fair amount of time enjoying them!
Thanking you for taking me to Paris with free of cost :)Hoping to travel with you often 😉
You’re welcome and so glad you enjoyed! 🙂
Your pictures brought back memories of our visit to Paris 3 years ago. We stayed in Bastille. Saw some familiar sites!
Thanks so much! Isn’t it a great part of Paris? I loved staying there! 🙂
Beautiful. A dream place to be. My wife hopes to go to London, then Paris this Summer. I was initially thinking of spending a day in Paris, but you inspired me to have two or more. If you don’t mind, when we do go, can I email you for the best places to go there. We have a relative as a tour guide but your adventures are always full of vibrance. Thanks.
Thanks! Yes, of course!!! If you decide to go, please contact me as I’ve been many times and did live there. I would love to be of help! Yes, it is quite a beautiful place!!!
