A Spectrum of Color

Perhaps one of the most stunning things about traveling is the vivid hues of colors you find, oftentimes in the most unexpected places. From the aquamarine blues of the inside of a glacier in Iceland to the rainbow colors of the Buddhist prayer flags in Nepal, there is always a surprise of color awaiting the curious eye.

In response to the Weekly Photo Challenge “Colors”, I carefully selected some of my most favorite finds from my travels. Hope you enjoy the rainbow spectrum of color.

Red

Orange

Yellow

Green

Blue

Violet

A spectrum of all colors to dazzle the eyes….

  1. wow, if this is just a selection of your photos, I can only imagine what the full array consists of! You’ve got a great eye for seeing the beauty in the ordinary, too. Amazing.

    • Thank you so much! Yes I’ve got tons and tons of pictures and it took some time to find these ones. I probably left out some other great ones but oh well. Glad you enjoyed! πŸ™‚

    • Thanks! It did and I was on vacation chilling out. I couldn’t resist though. Sometimes I get so excited about a post, I just dive right on in! πŸ™‚

  10. Wonderful wonderful – you deserve to get Freshly Pressed for these! Love them all but if I had to pic one.. the reds for me, especially that shot of the bridge with the lanterns, stunning.

    • Thanks so much for your kind words! I don’t know if I can pick a favorite of mine actually. I do like that Lantern one too from China. All these photos have such special meaning to me! Glad you enjoyed!

  11. Breathtaking collection, and impossible to pick just one best; however, I really like the bridge and lanterns photo in “Red,” a paradoxical shot with very few colors. Vonn Scott Bair

    • Thanks so much! Another person picked that very same photo as their favorite as well. I like it with the gray smoggy from China. The red just jumps out against it.

It’s impressive how much time you must take to go through your photographs to put these collages together most weeks. As everyone before me has said, the photos are beautiful!

  14. Gorgeous images Nicole. Suddenly after seeing very few I see ads on everyone’s sites…WP must be pushing them. I have to wonder what ones are showing up on mine.

    • Thanks Jo! Are you referring to the YouTube ads at the bottom of each post? Or are there other ads? I selectively opted for the “WordAds” program which just came out recently. It is one YouTube video at the bottom of each post. If there are other ads, then it is from WordPress. You can pay to opt out but I didn’t since I decided they have given me so much for free, I’d love them to earn some money. As for the YouTube videos, apparently you can earn small income but haven’t seen any yet. If I do earn anything, I’m donating it to one of the many NGOs I write about! πŸ™‚ Let’s hope! πŸ™‚

      • Yes I know, mud season is pretty much here in New Hampshire as well. There’s still snow in the mountains though and I do have one more “winter” hike left this year. Then, bring on the color!

  18. Absolutely breath taking! I’ve been stats side for only 6 months after a year in a half out of the country…..and this makes me itch even more to get back to traveling! Thanks for sharing!

    • So glad you enjoyed! Yes, I know what you mean about traveling. I’ve been a wanderlust all my life and the more I travel, the more I crave it! πŸ™‚
