“We have always been dreamers in Montana”. – Brian Schweitzer
Day three skiing at Big Sky meant it was time to pick it up a notch and hit the bowls. There is nothing more liberating and invigorating than physically challenging your body. It was time to hit the blacks.
We traveled with another family to Montana and my friend and I rode the gondola up to the top to hit the back bowls. It was another sensational, postcard perfect day. I felt more alive than I had in months.
The top affords perhaps one of the most breathtaking views in all of Big Sky. You can see for miles and miles and can even catch a glimpse of the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. Spring skiing also means no racing, bone-chilling wind. Just absolute perfection.
After a few photo ops, it was time to hit the bowl. View from on top of the world. No wonder they call the ski area Big Sky!
We got to the bottom and were drenched in sweat yet elated. What a fabulous ride!
Author’s note: In case you are wondering, I did not carry a big camera with me while skiing. All these photos were shot with my tiny iPhone camera!
