In my opinion, there is absolutely nothing better than eating lunch outdoors in the middle of the mountains. Last August, I had the pleasure of spending six full days hiking in the French Alps at Vanoise National Park and there were plenty of places for a picnic lunch with a never-ending amount of spectacular views. Here are some of my favorites….
“The mountains are calling and I must go”. – John Muir
“My father considered a walk among the mountains as the equivalent of churchgoing”. – Aldous Huxley
“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds”. – Edward Abbey
“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul”. – John Muir
“The mountains, the forest, and the sea, render men savage; they develop the fierce, but yet do not destroy the human”. – Victor Hugo
