Over the weekend, we had our good friends in town from Chicago and wanted to give them a tour of our lovely neighborhood in Southwest Minneapolis.  After stopping at my favorite coffee shop Patisserie 46 to get a cup of mi gasolina we headed towards the Rose and Trial Gardens near Lake Harriet.

I had been there about a month ago to see the explosion of early spring perennials (for this post, click here) and was amazed to see the next late Spring blooms.  Of course I had to go a little crazy and snap away!  There were peonies in all hues of reds, pinks and whites and lots of other interesting perennials.  The roses have yet to come out.  I’m sure I’ll be back in a week or two to take photos of them.

In the meantime, follow me through the Trial Gardens for a look at the new blooms! (If you are tired of my flowers posts then this one isn’t for you!).

Stay tuned…I’m back to finishing up my Spain series soon with the next stop being Granada!

    1. Thanks! My coffee descriptor came about when I spent a week studying spanish in Guatemala. My teacher came up with the term and it really stuck! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Renee! My dad told me he is “tired” of all my flowers and cloud! Ha. I am a bit obsessed with them so I’m glad readers also enjoy them! 🙂 Nicole

      1. Wonderful! I subscribe to your blog but am slower at reading my long list of posts thus thanks for the heads up. The flower is gorgeous but can’t remember the exact name either! Great job and glad you were inspired! 🙂 Nicole

  1. Love your photos of the peonies. They are one of my favorites! I’ll be interested in seeing the roses too. Hmmm…I think I need more ‘gasolina’ now! 🙂
