I couldn’t help myself. I am overwhelmed by the beauty of spring and the delightful array of colorful spring flowers.

I believe strongly that nature can heal you.  Enlighten you.  And brighten your soul.  I was drawn to visit the Minnesota Arboretum in the outlying suburbs for an afternoon of photo taking and embracing the beauty of mother nature’s rebirth and revival.

Hope you enjoy!  No worries, too.  After this post, I’m back to Guatemala with a visit to some of Antigua’s famous ruins!

The tulips were so brilliant, they hurt my eyes.

And last but not least….a bleeding heart…

It was a day to remember. So beautiful! Now that things are greening up and warming up, there will be a whole new group of flowers in bloom soon. More flowers to enjoy and capture their beauty.

  1. This is such a lovely and timely post, Nicole. The photos brightened up my otherwise cloudy morning. Enjoy the bouquet of colors before springtime is too quickly behind us. Thank you for sharing your garden with us!

  2. I love the Arb! I spent a lot of time there for school last year and the summer before, and it was a little bit of a pain getting there every week, but there was always something to see. Great tulip photos here.

Have you been to the Bog Area? I think that just reopened, and they have lady’s slippers!

    1. Wow, cool! Perhaps that is where you learned so much on flowers and plants! 🙂 I have not been to the Bog Area but will definitely check it out. For me, it is always fun to drive out that way. We live in SW Minneapolis but I grew up out there near Excelsior and Chaska. I remember riding my bike into Carver Park as a child. Anyway, as for the Arb I want to go back as none of the peonies or lilies were in bloom yet. Can’t wait!!!!

      1. That’s not the worst drive then. Last spring I was going out there every Thursday evenings from St. Paul and traffic was always a bit of a bear….

I’ve never got to spend as much time as I wanted roaming the actual grounds of the Arboretum when I was out there this time of year. It looks fantastic! Looking forward to pics of yours on future visits. 🙂

  3. You have inspired me to try to get out to the arboretum. I have lived here in the Twin Cities all my life and have yet to go to it. Beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Great! It is a wonderful place especially in the summer and fall! The Rose Garden and Trial Gardens are also wonderful (near Lake Harriet). 🙂

  4. I was there this time last year. I remember the tulips were absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing your photos and have fun in Guatemala. 🙂

    1. Thanks! Actually I am back from Guatemala but still writing about it. I tend to stretch my posts out or talk about past trips quite a bit as it takes me awhile to process it all!
