Our last night sleeping on the Inca Trail was a night to remember (or forget depending on how much you had to drink!). Day 3 hiking the Inca trail was the longest and more tiring day of all. From our campsite at Pacamayo we hiked an hour up to the fantastic ruins of Runkuracay, a lovely sample of what was to come. Day 2 of the Inca Trail was to be the hardest day of the trek as we would be climbing up from Wayllabamba village for about three hours through gorgeous wooded forests and spectacular terrain to the treeline and lovely meadow known as Llulluchapampa at 12,073 feet/3680m.
