A river of scorching lava blazed and flowed from the crater's rim as fire shot out of its belly. Last night Volcán de Fuego or volcano of fire, one of the most active volcanoes in Guatemala and one of the three volcanoes overlooking Antigua, erupted furiously.
Privileged to witness the spectacle from my rooftop terrace I watched and photographed it until after midnight.
My friend and amazing photographer Lucy who I visited in Antigua took these amazing shots of the volcano erupting. Wow! I am breathless. Is this a sign I need to go back? I think so! Bravo Lucy!

Thanks so much for reblogging this Nicole and for all your compliments!!! I hope you make it back to Antigua one day!
OMG! Incredible–and even kind of scary. Happy weekend, Nicole.
Hugs,
Kathy
I agree Kathy, scary, especially when I live so close to it!
Scary volcano but beautiful and exciting at the same time.
Definitely! Beautiful, scary and exciting all rolled into one!
